This week, I’m running a course on Positive Education, and so much of our discussion has turned to how powerful nature’s role is in well-being and a positive mindset. From a walk in nature to calm our nervous system to holding classes outdoors to engage deeper and with more joy, we are all in agreement that our natural world and how we connect to it impacts us deeply. And it’s not just a feeling – spending just 20 minutes in nature has been shown to significantly reduce cortisol levels (University of Michigan, 2019).
This Earth Day has reminded me that the more we care for the planet, the more it gives back—to our bodies, our minds, and our students. A small step outside can lead to a big shift inside. 🌿🌎
