💡 Big groups: energising or overwhelming?

💡 Big groups: energising or overwhelming?

I’m in the midst of a teacher training course with one of the largest groups I’ve had in a while, and I’m being reminded just how different the dynamic becomes.

With big groups, some things get easier:

✨ It’s obvious what’s landing, and what isn’t

✨ The collective energy can be powerful when it’s aligned

And then… some things become more of a challenge:

🎤 Managing volume takes twice the attention and effort

🌀 Holding space for everyone and being aware of so many different aspects like cultural patterns, individual needs, personal ongoings, requires sharper focus and clearer structure

Smaller groups let me go deeper with individuals, but bigger groups give me a clearer lens on the group mind, and when it flows, it really flows. Both offer completely different challenges and gifts.

I’m always refining my approach, so I’d love to hear from you:

👉 What are your best tricks for managing large groups?

👉 When do you prefer working big vs. small, and why?
