Thrilled to announce that I have completed 18 hours of Playback Theatre Training!
Playback Theatre is simple yet profound: audience members share real stories, and actors listen deeply, then bring them to life through artistic improv. But what struck me most wasn’t the performance, it was the simple act of listening.
Not just what people say… but what they are really saying.
And are we listening with just our heads, or with our hearts too? ❤️🧠
It made me reflect on daily life. So often, we listen to respond. To fix. To jump in.
Active listening, the kind that creates understanding and trust, is a skill, one that is incredibly powerful and the heart of all human centred practices.
This is a skill that I work with constantly in my training:
✨ 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻
✨ 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
✨ 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲
Whether in the classroom or in the meeting room, 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙙.
Theatre is so much more than just for the stage.
It’s a rehearsal space for life, for leadership, collaboration, and human connection.
That’s why I am such an advocate for it.
And why it sits at the heart of my work.
If you’re curious about how embodied practices, storytelling, and deep listening can transform teams, communities, or learning spaces, you’re in the right place. Come say hello! 👋
