Work Freedom…

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂? 🌏

As a freelancer, I know I’m not alone in this, sometimes stability feels shaky. Projects change, collaborations fall through, timelines move. It can be stressful. 

But then there are weeks like last week during my travels in #Singapore… where I thought to myself (multiple times), “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

We had a post-intensive call with Julia Slay while watching the Marina Gardens light show in Singapore, catching up with Molly Sanders Thomas Wilson MSc Aisling McElearney PhD, MBA Alice Witt & Liz about how things have been since the intensive last November.

That experience showed me that I can be in two places at once –
connected,
present,
working –
and it was such a special realization.

I even implemented a fun check in mentioned during the call for my weekend workshop, and it definitely was a success!

On a different note, I sat in on a lecture by one of my oldest friends, Ivory Loh, MPH, RDN, cPT, at NTU on stress and emotional resilience. It was nothing short of inspiring to learn from a friend, and to see how the values in our work are so aligned, even though they show up in completely different ways – hers through a nutrition and well being lens, mine through play and presence.

And the biggest realization of all? None of this sits outside my work.

The travel…
The new environments…
The people I learn from…
The moments of perspective…

All of it feeds directly into how I facilitate, how I design learning spaces, how I listen, and how I hold stories. As a creative practitioner, this “freedom” is actually a part of the practice itself. Talk about a breakthrough! 🎭

This #Asia chapter was something of a quiet experiment: stepping away from my home base in Barcelona, exploring, catching up with old friends, meeting new people, and seeing if my work can move with me. So far, it’s been pretty magical!! ✨
